Forest Hill House
Forest Hill House is a substantial bespoke dwelling conceived as a refined interpretation of a traditional rural home. Architecturally, the building adopts a striking quadruple-gable form, with a rendered timber-frame superstructure rising from a robust brick plinth. The elevations are articulated through exposed oak Tudor-style detailing, deep brick chimneys and expansive glazing. To the front, a two-storey glazed curtain wall entrance forms a dramatic focal point, contrasting against the brick-built extension capped with cast sandstone coping stones. To the rear, the house opens onto a broad stone terrace and landscaped gardens, where full-height glazed gables and wide sliding doors draw in natural light and frame uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. The material palette of white render, red brick, oak detailing and slate roofing ensures the home feels contemporary while remaining grounded in its rural setting.
Internally, the ground floor is arranged around generous open-plan family living spaces centred on a high-specification kitchen with shaker-style cabinetry, quartz worktops, a feature range cooker and a curved central island. Large-format porcelain floor tiles create continuity throughout the principal living areas. The first floor provides four bedrooms, including a master suite with dressing room and en suite, additional dressing accommodation, a family bathroom and an atrium over the stair. Vaulted ceilings across the upper level, combined with full-height glazing within the gables, create dramatic volumes and far-reaching views. Exposed oak beams, a brick feature fireplace and wide timber flooring introduce warmth and craftsmanship, resulting in a spacious, light-filled executive home defined by strong architectural form and carefully considered detailing.
